Loving Care for New Parents
Your
pregnancy, birth, and postpartum needs are unique. They should be attended
to with mindfulness, flexibility, expertise, and respect.
I
have provided nurturing physical, social, and emotional support to families
for the last two decades. My twenty-five years of education and experience
in the fields of perinatal care and education, midwifery, anthropology
and philosophy make me uniquely qualified to attend to your birth and
postpartum needs.
I
can help you cope with the changes and challenges that pregnancy brings,
prepare for parenthood, and plan the kind of birth you want. I can be
at your side during labor and childbirth. And after your baby is born,
I can take care of you while you learn to take care of your baby.

“Esther’s
care was a godsend, from the prenatal visits right through the postpartum
period. It did more than just nurture me as a new mother — I think
it set the tone for us as a reconfigured family. Our baby daughter’s
had a great beginning, and so have we.”

Julie, new mother
“My
labor outlasted three nurses’ shifts, but Esther kept me and my
husband focused and sane from start to finish. She knew when to sit
back and let us do our thing, and when we needed guidance or hands-on
help. She taught me how to breastfeed and care for my baby. And then
she took care of everything when we got home, so we could rest and get
to know our new daughter. Even my mom kept saying how lucky we were
to have her.”

"When
Esther didn’t hesitate to wipe my wife’s butt, I thought
to myself, this is worth every penny."
